With the cost of new computers cheaper than they once were, the repair of the device can be close to or exceed the cost of a new device. In this case, a diagnoses is performed to determine this and the diagnostic fee is only charged if you do not wish to proceed with the repair of device. ^If you choose to have the device repaired, the diagnostic fee is waived and the hourly repair rate above applies.
